Ron Carlivati Steps Down As 'Beyond The Gates' Breakdown Writer

 

Emmy Award-winning writer Ron Carlivati has officially exited Beyond the Gates, less than a year after joining the CBS daytime series as a breakdown writer.

According to sources close to the production, Ron Carlivati made the decision to step away from Beyond the Gates just as the writing team began work on scripts for the upcoming second season. Due to the production schedule of Beyond the Gates, where scripts are typically finalized several months before taping begins, the effects of Carlivati’s departure are not expected to be reflected in the broadcast until early 2026.

It remains uncertain whether Carlivati’s exit signals a move to another daytime drama—possibly as a head writer or breakdown writer—or if he intends to take a break from the soap opera industry altogether. He previously held head writing roles on One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Days of our Lives.
