Who Was the Guy That Looked Like AJ on Greenleaf?

Now that Greenleaf has concluded, there are still some unanswered questions that I have.  Like who was the young man that looks like AJ and spoke to Grace at the end of season 4 at Faith’s gravesite.

I know in the first episode of season 5 it was explained that this young man was accused of robbing multiple pharmacies and was gun down by the police.  With the young man taking the fall for the pharmacy robberies, AJ was able to go free and clear.  Still, we never got an explanation as to why he was on the Greenleaf property in the first place and how he knew who Grace was.

I have seen quite a bit of speculation as to who he was, everything from being the real AJ to possibly being a ghost.   I will admit I fell into the camp that believed he was the real AJ.  As the season went on I realize that probably was not the case. 

I recently saw a Facebook live with Merle Dandridge (Grace), and she stated that there was supposed to be another scene with the young man in the series finale episode, but apparently, the scene was cut out of the episode.   It makes you wonder why they decided to cut the scene since so many fans have been curious as to whom this young man was. 

I guess we may never know who he was and who he may be connected to unless they address it in the upcoming spin-off.

    He was an angel. Grace was praying to god when she saw him crossing the property. He gave grace a message about her son he told her every one has an expiration date. That was before grace found out her son was sick. When he gave her the message, she told him how to get back on the main road. He gave her a smile and thanked her. He had only one job...he was sent by god to take the wrap for A.j and to give grace the message of not giving up on her son cause life is short.

    I think that AJ never robbed the store and that all the pills he had were for his HIV and that's why he was always trying to leave so they wouldn't find out. The guy at the gravesite was the robber stealing the drugs for AJ and was AJ lover? Was Aj gay also?
