Robert Guza Jr. Steps Down as Executive Producer of Beyond the Gates

According to Soap Opera Network Robert Guza Jr., a Daytime Emmy Award-winning writer, has officially exited the CBS soap opera Beyond the Gates. He played a key role in launching the series, serving as co-head writer and one of eight executive producers. Guza's departure comes after fulfilling the terms of his initial contract.

While CBS has not made an official statement, industry sources indicate that the exit was planned and amicable. The show, which was recently renewed for a second season, has since welcomed veteran daytime writer Tracey Thomson to its production team. A CBS press release inadvertently confirmed her appointment as an executive producer, suggesting she will assume the responsibilities formerly held by Guza.

Though it is yet to be confirmed whether Thomson will join as co-head writer alongside Michele Val Jean, her extensive background in daytime television—including roles at The Young and the Restless, All My Children, and General Hospital—positions her as a strong candidate.
