We Now Know What Anita Dupree’s Big Secret Is on Beyond the Gates

 

On the June 3^rd episode we find out what Anita’s secret is. We find out there was a 4^th member of The Articulates name Barbara. We find this out when we see Anita reading a letter from Barbara. In the letter Barbara states how she was the one who started The Articulates and how their manager Dante Green kicked Barbara out of the group because he thought she sounded too “ghetto.” When Barbara went to Anita for support, she basically told her that this is show business, and Anita when on without Barbara and had an enormous amount of success. In the end of the letter Barbara states after watching from the sidelines and being betrayed by Anita, Barbara committed suicide.

This was a surprising twist to the storyline. I wonder if Anita will tell Vernon about her past, or will another one of the group members expose Anita.
